**Junior WKU KWON Team: Successful Debut at the US Open**
We are pleased to report on the first successful appearance of the Junior WKU KWON Team at the US Open in Orlando, USA. A big thank you goes to our generous sponsors, including WKU World GmbH and Kwon, who made this event possible.
Under the leadership of former national coach and world champion Robert Ulbrich, the team consisting of Deniz Ciftci, Elwin Huber, Brodie Lowry, and Harvey Knowles traveled to Orlando to participate in this prestigious tournament. As with the legendary Mach1 Team, the requirement for participation is that each athlete must have been a world champion. Unfortunately, Luca Nonnemacher had to withdraw beforehand due to a severe lung infection.
Despite this, the team, with its four European athletes, was able to secure numerous placements at the US Open. Naturally, all of them competed in the black belt classes. A special highlight was meeting martial arts legend Bill Wallace, who also conducted a seminar at the US Open.

- 1st place in 16-17 Class A Black Belt Boys Clash Sparring (Class AA competitors may enter)
- 2nd place in 16-17 Class AA Black Belt Boys Point Sparring - Shorter (NASKA Rated)

- 2nd place in 16-17 Class A Black Belt Boys Clash Sparring
- 2nd place in 16-17 Class A Black Belt Boys Continuous Sparring
- 3rd place in 16-17 Class AA Black Belt Boys Point Sparring - Taller (NASKA Rated)
**Brodie Lowry:**
- 2nd place in 16-17 Class AA Black Belt Boys Point Sparring - Taller (NASKA Rated)
- 3rd place in 16-17 Class A Black Belt Boys Continuous Sparring
